Sisters of Mercy and Associates:
My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to all of you on the loss of a very intelligent lady who truly walked the walk of life. She was an inspiration in many ways to me while I was working for Linn County especially. Sr. Ann truly had a passion for justice and getting to the source of the injustice. She taught me to not be afraid to stand up for what appeared to be an injustice. I must admit, sometimes I wasn’t sure if she really believed anything was “just.” I am happy to have served on the Core Team with Sr. Ann and will keep all of you in my prayers. May she rest in peace.
Sisters Pat Murphy and JoAnn Persch in Chicago remember Anne fondly. During a time of immersion experiences she joined us at Su Casa Catholic Worker House for Central American Refugees. She was a joy to our community and we never forgot her. Our condolences to all who knew and love her. Prayers for all.
Dear Sr. Annette, Frances, Margaret, and Sisters,
I admire Anne’s life story and her wonderful focus on “God with God.” Her ministries in the library and catechetics brought a wide influence for so many. May she enjoy God’s reward for her loving life.
Helen
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Cedar Rapids as you mourn the death of Sr. Anne. I enjoyed my time with her on the Justice Team that was coordinated by Maureen Hally, RSM- long before there was a WMW! May she rest in peace and pray for those of us left behind.
Dear Family of Sister Anne Fiala,I just heard of Sister Anne’s passing. So sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Sister Anne at St. Mary’s in Marshalltown, Iowa. I had worked as her Book Keeper/Secretary for the RE Program. I thought of her often during the last 18 years so enjoyed our daily pray with her everyday of my 4 year working career there at St. Mary’s. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
