Shannon Gene Washburn, 38, of Boone, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, February 23, 2009, near Boone, Iowa, following a short illness. Memorial Services: 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Bill Harnish. Survivors include his mother, Mary Washburn; his sister, Kim Washburn; and his niece, Kristina Aguilar-Washburn, all of Cedar Rapids.

  1. I remember when we lived next door to each other and me and Kim would try to get you to babysit!And I remember the time you started selling magazines and you asked me if I wanted to buy some! We had alot of fun memories! We never had a fight or even a disagreement the whole time we have known you! I would always hear through Kim how you were doing!

  2. We are so very sorry to hear that Shannon is gone from this earth and now his free spirit can go where it is supposed to go! Mary and Kim’s family will be in our prayers and thoughts and Shannon will live on through precious memories and he will never be forgotten!

  3. I want to say how sorry I am to here about your loss. Life is so unpredictable.I didnt know Shannon as well as I know Kim. But when I did get to share time with Shannon we have a few beers and all he would say to me is (happy birthday to us) cuz we did share the same birthdate. He was a funny guy. I am glad to have knowen him and share the same birthdate with him. Shannon you will be missed and on my birthday I will give you a shout out.To the family I like to send my condolences. If there is anything I can do please just let me know. Shannon you will always be in my mermory.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.I wish in so many ways that I could have at least met Shannon.I have so many questions and so many mixed feelings right now.I only heard of Shannon about 10 years ago. When I seen his picture there was no dought in my mind.He looks so much like us. I really don’t know how I can feel loss of someone I never knew, but that feeling is there.I would so like to talk to Mary or Kim, just to have a few questions answered.     I knew Shannon when he was living in Dubuque for a brief time. Shannon was a great guy and was always ready for a good time. I am sorry to hear this informations. My deepest condolences. If Kim would like to communicate please give her my email address.

  10. So sorry to hear about your loss. Ive searched many years to find my half brother and thaught several years back that I found him.. I guess my search ends now. I will always have a special place in my heart for the one I never got the chance to know. Rest in pease Shannon.
