Robin "Rob" Bierl

May 9, 1954 ~ June 16, 2026

Robin “Rob” Edward Bierl, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully with loved ones on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born on May 9, 1954, to Laverne and Norma Jean Bierl, in Carroll, Iowa. The family later moved to Cedar Rapids in 1966. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rob enjoyed working hard to provide support for his family, and in his retirement spent as much time riding his motorcycle as he could. During his retirement he met the love of his life, Rhoda Bierl, and they married, July 17, 2024.

Rob is survived by his wife, Rhoda Bierl; daughters, Karly Spear and Tessa (Nick) Long; five beautiful grandchildren; sisters, Shari (Myron) Schulte and Lisa (Kevin) Nelson; brother-in-law, John Grohl, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Grohl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  5. We’re friends since Jr. High. He was a grooms man in my first wedding. And a drummer in our band in the 60s. I also worked with him at Quaker oats. I really miss talking and seeing him. It hit me really hard. All my old band members are gone now. All 4 of us ran around together and us three worked at the Pine Inn restaurant in 1969. We had a lot of fun. And good memories. Forever in my thoughts. Very sorry for your loss.
