Date line Mechanicsville: Robert Lee Hass 85 of Mechanicsville, died Friday April 13, 2007 in Mechanicsville Rehabilitation Center, from cancer. Funeral services for Bob will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, in the Lisbon First Federated Church by Pastor Jim Roberts. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday in Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. Bob will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Surviving Robert is daughter Cheryl and husband Carl Robinson of Mechanicsville and son Steven and wife Deborah of Mountain View, California, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding Bob in death were his parents and a brother William "Bill" Hass, Jr. Bob was born September 2, 1921 on the family farm in Mechanicsville, the second son of William and Hermie Hass. Robert attended country school in rural Mechanicsville and graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1937. He married Gertrude "Trudy" Demory, June 30, 1945. Before retiring Bob worked the family farm. Bob was a member of the First Federated Church of Lisbon. His passing will change us all.   1. You have my depest sympathy for your loss. We only had Bob here a short time but became quite attached to him. We enjoyed him greatly. I particularly enjoyed watering his flowers and the talks we had in the mornings. I am glad we were able to help keep him comfortable in his final days. Cindy

  2. I agree that we are all affected by Bob’s death. I will miss his warm grin and laugh. He was one of those special people who made others smile just by walking into the room. He was always courteous and never complained. He used to say, “no use complaining – it doesn’t fix anything.” He often talked about his grandkids, updating me on where & what they were doing. Our thoughts & prayers are with Trudy, Cheryl, Steve & family during this difficult time. Also an extended expression of sympathy from the Reeve family to Steve & family. My family will miss the updates from Bob on Steve, Deb & their kids.
