Rita Wiese

Rita Wiese, 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on June 4, 2026, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon, Lisbon, Iowa. Celebration of Life will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, Iowa, followed by a short Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon will follow at Gwen’s Restaurant, Lisbon. Private family burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Rita was born June 11, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter to Robert and Dorothy (Hartl) Vislisel. She married John Wiese on January 16, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. Rita worked as an accountant for the Monticello Express.

Rita loved being on the water and boating during vacations to Minnesota and at her cabin on Coralville Lake. She enjoyed bird watching and playing cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wiese; daughter, Michelle Wiese; siblings, Nancy (Greg) Norlin, David (Julie) Vislisel, and Diane (Dave) Graham; brothers-in-law, Doug Clark and William (Noella) Wiese; and sister-in-law, Melanii Vislisel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Vislisel; husband, John Wiese; and siblings, Theresa and Jim.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National TTT Society (Camping4Girls) or the Indian Creek Nature Center.
