Mary, Sean, and family Sorry to hear about R.B. He was definitely one of a kind. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
Jim, Ron, and family – What a great loss! Bob was something special and really had a gift for making friends. Will never forget all the fun times with him growing up. I saw Bob at Lynnette Pithan’s visitation this year and we had a nice chat. Thought he was looking pretty good. My prayers are with you all. A fun story about one of our times decorating for the prom as sophomores. I had my license so had Dad’s old 1954 Ford delivery wagon with the choke and manual with column shift. We were driving around with 6 or so others in the car. About 3 miles east of the school, I pulled the choke and looked at Bob. He gave a knowing look. The car stalled and we announced that we were out of gas and had to walk. We, of course, lagged back a ways and after an appropriate distance, raced back to the car, pushed in the choke, started the car and drove past the group while honking and waving. We were tempted to drive back to town but decided to back up and pick them up. Just one of many good times. Dan
My deepest sympathies on the loss of RB to your family. I was the Levi’s salesman in Iowa when RB and Bob owned The County Line. Rb was always fun to be around, funny, and had more friends than most. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to know. I have been away from Iowa since 1984 but RB is still etched sharply in my memory.
Deepest sympathy for your loss.
Mary, We are sorry for your loss and our sympathies are with you and your family. Your neighbors Bill & Iva.
Sympathies to the Burnett Family. I grew up with Bob in Lost Nation. He was a year younger than I but in a small town you always know everyone. He was always a happy guy. In the later years, I would see him and chat with him at Hy Vee when he would come in, as I work there. I have missed seeing him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Our sympathy on the loss of your brother,Bob.It has been a long time since we crossed paths in chicago. It appears that Bob had some health difficulties. so sorry about that. we lost our son, Denny at 62 in March. such young ages seem much too young to leave us. Joe and I send this message from Keystone place in Cedar rapids. blessings to both of you and Bob’s family.
