Lee Roy James Dean, 67, of Marion, died at home on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, by Gary Warner. Visitation one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Private family burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Jessel; his father, Donald L. Dean of Marion; a brother, Donald A. (Darlene) Dean of Marion; three sons, James (Val) Dean of Anamosa, John Dean of Marion, and Mark (Jane) Gilmore of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Donna Wyant, Jo Ellen Bednarowicz, both of Marion, and Lisa Watson of Clear Lake, California; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a special aunt, DeVee (Charles) Warner of Marion; and cousins, Charles (Cindy) Warner, Gary (Paula) Warner, Dean (Patricia) Warner, and Steve (Kim) Krizek. He was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda. Lee Roy was born April 20, 1942 in Marion, Iowa. He served as a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy, where he became a heavy equipment operator. His favorite hobby was fishing with his wife, Jessel. Lee Roy was a kind and loving husband who will be greatly missed.

    We will miss you at Pizza Hut. You were always a good worker and dedicated employee. We appreciated how much you did for us by coming in to make the pizzas (the night before & doing the clean up) when we had school lunch the next day.

    Hey, i am sorry to have learned of this loss. I remember when i was very young and we would go to Roy and Gramps’ house and look at all of the watches. I hope everything is ok!

  6. I,m glad he finaly learned to be a good husband to his last wife, for her sake. Lord knows he was neither a good husband, FATHER, nor provider for his family in his younger years.
