H. Viola "Vi" Stoltz 91 of Mount Vernon, formerly of Joliet, Illinois, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the Bethesda Extended Care Facility, St. Louis, from a brief illness. Memorial services, 2:30 p.m., Thursday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, by the Reverend Frank Seydel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until time of service Thursday in the chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Surviving Vi in death are three sons: Chris and Richard of Mount Vernon and Albert of Denver, Colorado, a daughter Darla Templeton of St. Louis, Missouri, fifteen grand children and twelve great grandchildren. Preceding Vi in death was her husband Dick who died in 1988. Vi was born April 4, 1913 at Belle Fouche, South Dakota, the daughter of Roy and Louise Beltzner. She moved from Belle Fouche to Joliet in 1927, and to Mount Vernon in 1936. She graduated from Joliet High School in 1930, and graduated from Gulf Park College and Moser Business College. She married Richard "Dick" Stoltz August 3, 1935 at Joliet. For over fifty years Vi and her husband Dick operated Stoltz Cleaners and Coin Laundry at Mount Vernon. Vi was generous with her time as a volunteer, serving thirty years with the Camp Fire, ten years with the Cub Scouts, was PTA president, and a member of the Zonta International. She also served on the Mount Vernon Recreation Council, a long time member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, and was a charter member of the Woman's Club of Mount Vernon. Memorials in Vi's name may be given to the Camp Fire U.S.A., 6300 Rockwell Dr. N.E., P. O.
