Geraldine 'Jerry' C. Molitor, 88, of Cedar Rapids, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Burial: 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover, Iowa. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Survivors include two sons, James Molitor and Joseph (Rita) Molitor of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Connie (Bill) Friedrichsen of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a sister, Carol 'Pat' Molitor of Dorchester, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Charlene Molitor of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and very special cousins, Francis and Doris Molitor. Jerry was born January 28, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the second daughter of John J. and Ida E. (Drought) Stubbe. She married LeRoy Molitor on October 16, 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He died in 2002. Jerry was a devoted homemaker, member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and volunteer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jerry was a generous, kind-hearted, and loving Christian with a great sense of humor and a clever wit. There wasn't an animal she didn't love or a person she didn't befriend. She was very deeply and dearly loved and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Annie; and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the St. Matthew Catholic School.
