Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I had the pleasure and honor to have worked with Georgene for several years. She was witty, smart and, kind with a heart of gold. My heart is heavy for all of her family. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Georgene and I connected after we had major grief events in our lives. She lived one street away from me, and was always up for an impromptu patio time. Georgene and I hiked, served together on the board of a local nonprofit, and we supported one another in our community’s HOA Board of Directors.
Georgene lived a very merciful and generous life.

  3. I previously worked for Iowa Electric / IES / Alliant Energy. For the last few years, our team of 5 worked under the leadership of Georgene, covering Iowa and southern Minnesota. For my 36+ years of work, Georgene was absolutely the best boss I ever had. As a team, we got together almost every year even AFTER leaving Alliant. We miss her!

  4. Georgene had a heart of gold and a zest for life. She cared deeply about her friends and family, even strangers. She served the Lord with all her heart, always volunteering to help. I will miss her so much!

  5. Georgene lit up any room she entered. She had a way of making those around her smile and feel good.
She brought hope to many orphans, widows, and vulnerable children by serving in God’s name. We will miss Georgene, a dear friend to me and so many others. Blessings.

  6. It is still so hard to believe that Georgene is gone. She mentored me at work and became a lifelong friend. Our dinners to catch up on our boys and grandkids. She had a heart of gold. Words cannot describe this loss for her friends, family and all those she helped. I will think of you always, until we meet again my friend.

  7. Georgene was truly special. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved whenever they were in her presence. That is one of the many things I treasured about our friendship. She shared her love freely and generously, touching countless lives throughout the Durango community and far beyond, even in foreign lands. Her kindness, compassion, and servant’s heart were an inspiration to all who knew her. I admired Georgene during her time here in Durango, and I will strive to follow her example until the day we are reunited in the presence of our Lord.
