Donald O'Hara, 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in Lisbon, Iowa. Visitation: 3-7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2023, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery immediately following the service. Luncheon will follow at Gwen's Restaurant, Lisbon, Iowa. Don was born August 18, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of John and Ruth (House) O'Hara. Don worked in the Quad Cities and retired from Standard Forwarding after 34 years as a semi-truck mechanic. He also owned his own trucking business, O'Hara Trucking, for 27 years. Don was famous for his teal pickup; he totaled 784,000 miles making his rounds around the Lisbon area. He also enjoyed going to car shows, riding his motorcycle, rebuilding cars and pickups, traveling, especially to Saint Martin, going out to eat, having coffee with the guys, and taking care of his cats. Don is survived by his wife, Gloria O'Hara; daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Flockhart; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Flockhart, Chris (Adreanna) Flockhart, and Jeremy Flockhart; great-grandchildren, Sondra, Calista, Dave, and Lexi; siblings, Mike (Karen) O'Hara, Pat (Carl) Odean, Johnny (Lynn) O'Hara, Terry O'Hara, Margaret Monaghan, Steve O'Hara, Greg O'Hara, and Dave O'Hara; special friend, Andy Pasker; his coffee crew, and cat, LB. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Phyllis Sterk and Robert Charles. Memorials may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or the family.
