Burial Lisbon Cemetery with full military honors. Donald John "Donny" Glackin, 22 of Lisbon, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, from an accidental gun- shot wound. Services 4:30 p.m., Monday at the Lisbon Community Schools gymnasium. Visitation from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Morgan Funeral Home, Mount Vernon Chapel. Burial Lisbon Cemetery with full military honors. Surviving Don are his parents, Brad Glackin, Springville and Tina Glackin, Sutliff, sister Andrea Glackin, Lisbon and brother Spencer Glackin, Springville, a daughter Aliyah Rose Glackin and fianc Angie Demakis, Cedar Rapids. Donny is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Don and Rose Seeman, Mount Vernon, maternal grandmother, Judy and step-grandfather John Weaver, Marion, a large extended loving family and his many friends and military comrades (brothers). Preceding Donny in death was his grandfather John Glackin. Donny was born October 2, 1986, Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 2005. He enlisted while he was in high school in the National Guard. Don was preparing to go to Afghanistan in 2010. Don was currently working as a sales man at Sears, Cedar Rapids. Donny was a proud member of the Iowa National Guard, Charlie Company, 2/34th BSTB, and just re-enlisted. Don loved to hunt, fish, play video games, play pool, and was a fish aquarium hobbyist. Don was a new loving, proud, devoted, father, and loved spoiling his daughter, Aliyah. He was a devoted brother to Spencer and sister Andrea. He was a compassionate, caring, and giving person. Don was a tissue and organ donor to help others. The family would like to thank the personal at the Iowa National Guard, 2/34th Brigade Special Troops Battalion for their help and generous support and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic for their compassion and caring for Donny and his family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Running through the snow w me and Duke to race in the yard in Lisbon….showing me the tap lights he got for Christmas for night….telling the story to me at Christmas after he was in the service and hadn’t seen him in years and he cleaned his gun and his dad put his cigarette out in the powder……I love and miss you Cousin!
