Alberta Alice Neal Taylor Post 83, of 2796 Pheasant Ridge Court, Marion, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids from a long illness. Services 11:00 a.m., Monday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, by the Reverend Tom Mattson. Friends may call Sunday, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., at the chapel. Graveside services 1:00 p.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Surviving Alberta is her husband Quentin of Marion, two sons: Jon (Ali) Michael Taylor, and Dennis (Cathy) James Taylor, three grandchildren: B.J., (Jenny), Cory and Colleen Taylor, and two great grandchildren: Anna and Raider Taylor, all of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews. Alberta is also survived by her personal care giver "Oscar the Shih-tzu." Preceding Alberta in death were her parents, two brothers: Howard and Denny Neal and a sister Dorothy Neal Wilson. Alberta was born April 20, 1921, on the Neal family farm at Mount Vernon. She was the daughter of Benjamin C. and Bessie Mildred Burt Neal. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1938 and joined the Presbyterian Church at Mount Vernon in 1940. She graduated in 1942 from the Paris Beauty Academy, Cedar Rapids, and managed and retired from the Paris Beauty Salon. She married Quentin Post, May 6, 1968 at Springville. They spent many happy years on East Post Road by Indian Creek, and moved to Marion in 1997. A memorial fund has been established.
