Kirk was born on June 16, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Helen (Kirkpatrick) Corbett. He was united in marriage to Linda “Linn” Rausch on January 2, 1999, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa.

He worked for General Mills as a chemist in the lab and then became a sales representative. After retirement he married the Tupperware Lady and she put him back to work as they became owners of Skyrocket Sales, Cedar Rapids. After retiring again, he became the event planner for the Rausch clan; bus trips, camping, and outings in Arizona.

Kirk loved traveling, skiing, running, snow birding in Arizona, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Go Hawks! In his work and leisure travels he made lasting friendships coast to coast. Kirk had one goal in life after he met Linn, that was to make her laugh and see her happy. Mission Accomplished!

Left to tell his stories are his wife, Linn; children, Chad (Rebecca) Kruse and Heather (Darnell Granberry) Kruse; grandchildren, Darnell Granberry Jr., Evan (Sami) Kruse, Griffin (Zoe Walts) Granberry, Jordyn Kruse, Ellis Kruse, Claire Kruse, and Cole Kruse; brothers, Don (Ali) Corbett and Chris (Becky) Corbett; In-laws, Verna Welte, Marilyn Pirc, Francis “Frank” (Joyce) Rausch, Leon “Lee” Rausch, Jerome “Jerry” (Jean) Rausch, Celester Rausch, and Loras “Gravy” Rausch; and tons of nieces and nephews who were all very special to him.
