  1. We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services – Cedar Rapids

  2. Way back in the beginning of my relationship with Duane Jr., he had developed a major rust problem on his 1st car and had a bad wheel bearing. Since Duane Sr. had a shop, I suggested we take our business there and support our own family. Needless to say, Duane Sr. looked the whole car over, replaced the wheel bearing and said, “that frame is just about rusted through, I wouldn’t drive that car any longer than you have to!” May have saved his own sons life! Grateful for that to this day, Duane, thank you!

  3. Diana and Family Sorry to see of Duane’s passing had some good visits with you guys when working at the NAPA Store in Central City so may he rest in peace and prayers to you all

  4. Sorry for your loss, i believe Duane went to LTI in West Des moines when i was attending. We went fishing a time or 2 with Duane and enjoyed his humor and wisdom. I never forgot about the folks that had an impact on me. Thank you Duane

  6. I have known Duane most of my like. We have had our ups and downs, didn’t always see eye to eye. I wasn’t a nice kid when I moved back from Maine. I had never had a father figure in my life and felt at 20, I didn’t need one then. Duane had to earn my trust and prove himself to me. It wasn’t long until he won through video games. We would stay up way past midnight playing video games. One of his passions. One time my mom made a big bowl of chips dip to take to work. We we were only going to have a little!!
Through it all Duane was the best man I know, the best dad I’ve known, and the best father I have ever had. They say with step parents, they don’t have to love you, they choose too. I’m forever grateful for the role he played in my life and proud be be a daughter of his.
