Byron Perry

Byron Lee Perry passed away on May 9, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Visitation: 1- 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, followed by procession to Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, for a Graveside Service and Military Honors. Byron was born on June 20, 1944, to Kenneth L. Perry and Pearl C. Melchior in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a Vietnam War veteran having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Oriskany. Byron was a brilliant carpenter and was a master in his craft. He loved a good conversation with friends. In the past, Byron loved to ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny; infant son, Eric; and nephew, Mike Johnson. Byron is survived by his son, Patrick Byron Perry; his sister, Celestine Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
