Caroline S. Groff

November 18, 1928 ~ December 2, 2005

Caroline Stroeck Groff, 77, of Lisbon, formerly of Adel, died Friday, December 2, 2005 in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids from an aortic aneurysm. At Caroline's request, there will be no services or visitation. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. Surviving Caroline is her husband of sixty years, Dr. Irwin G. of Lisbon; three children: Cara (Kent) Gerzema of Shoreview, Minnesota, Clifford (Allison) Groff of Omaha, Nebraska, and Daun (John) Roth of Lake Forest, Illinois; nine granddaughters and fifteen great grandchildren; and a sister Ann Huff of Lisbon. Preceding her in death were her parents. Caroline was born November 18, 1928, at San Antonio, Texas. She married Irwin Groff, April 25, 1945 at Kelly Field, San Antonio. The couple moved from Adel to Lisbon in 1995. Caroline was an excellent cook and homemaker, enjoyed nature, and working jigsaw puzzles. She was very devoted to her husband and children.
