  1. The first time I met Jimmy, he was working for Weitz down in Tama and I was working for E and K drywall. It was the Thursday before Memorial day a few years ago and my dad (President Dave Hogan) was just in a motorvehicle accident. I happened to bump into Jim on my way down out of the hotel and he stopped me by saying “Whats wrong, kid” Not knowing Jim but being pretty sure he knew my dad I stopped to tell him the story before heading for Iowa City. I was greeted with a hug from Jim and him saying “Your old man is tough as nails he’ll pull thru just fine. Tell ‘im Jimmy Kepler’s thinking about him” And every time since then that I bumped into Jim whether on a different job or somewhere else, he’d always stopped to chat for just a lil while. Local 308 is gonna miss you Jimmy! You were truly one of a kind and a man with a GOLDEN HEART!!! Rest In Peace Brother Jim!
