  1. We haven’t seen Wilbur for over 50 years but my husband and Wilbur belonged to the Road Knights car club together in about 1958. We became good friends and the club used to “cruise” 1st and 2nd Avenues, of course never causing any trouble, just loved to compare cars. Wilbur gave me my first ever motorcycle ride from downtown CR to highway 13 which then was almost all country. Many years later i got my own motorcycle but he gave me quite an exciting ride for my first one. We’ve never forgotten him even though we haven’t seen each other for years.. you have our deepest sympathy on his death.

  2. Doug, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your dad, there is no pain like that loss. Know he will always be with you, in your heart and soul. Peace and love to you and your family at this time of such sorrow! Scotta

  3. After many, many emails, I finally met Wilbur and Sharon, in person, on June 17, 2000.
We were brought together because I bought Wilbur and Sharon’s 1951 Chevy, known to them as the “Foxy Lady”.
After driving 750 miles to see the car, I suggested we take the car for a test ride. It was drizzling that day, Wilbur was reluctant to take the car out in the drizzle.
“But Wilbur”, I said, “I drove 750 miles to check this car out, and drive it”. Wilbur finally agreed, but not an overwhelming agreement. I fell in love with the car, the deal was finalized, meaning Sharon counted the cash!
Wilbur and I loaded the 51 Chevy on a trailer, then said our good byes on June 19, 2000.
I saw the sadness on both their faces as I pulled away, but managed to stay in touch with Wilbur and Sharon for the next 13 years … until now.
Thirteen years later, the “Foxy Lady” is still in my possession, feel I’m the ongoing caretaker for Wilbur and Sharon.
I am SO SAD to hear this news, really felt a very special bond with Wilbur and Sharon.
Sharon, my thoughts and prayers are with you, Wilbur and your past and present 4 legged kids.
    God Bless.

    Love to you,
    Bob Gubanc

  4. I started my printing career at wagner printers in may of 88 in which I met Wilbur. Morey Willis was my neighbor for years in which I bought a 64 galaxy from him. When Wilbur saw the car and I told him who my neighbor was, I was in. You will always be in my book Wilbur.

  5. Wilbur was a wonderful neighbor, friend, and person, and a great example of someone who generously gave his time and talents to others: He will be missed by all of us, but the influence he had on those who knew him will endure.
