  1. i am so sorry for your loss…Velma Jean will be missed so much….I worked with her at Willow Gardens Care Center…and she was such a loving, caring, and funny person…i loved her little smart remarks that she made daily and how she reminded me each day that she had 8 screws in her hip and that is why she moved slow…i will miss her so much…now she is in a better place…..and no longer in pain

  2. Thank you, Dawn, for giving us the pleasure of meeting and knowing your grandma, Jean, thru the children’s parties. She was always so friendly to us. I’m sure your family will miss her sweet spirit.

  3. May the Hughes family find comfort in knowing that God is “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34;18) He has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25;8) With deepest sympathy,

  4. So sorry to hear about Jean. Our thought and prayers are with the family. I rember all the good times with the family. It was such a good neighborhood to grow up in and have your parents as neighbors. Love Sherry & Dan Grissom
