Todd Michael Benson, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on January 26, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, and lived a full life that touched the hearts of many. Todd's warmth, sense of humor, and infectious laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Todd is survived by his mother, LeeAnn Benson and her partner, Neal Allsop; three daughters, Britani (Zach) Kline, Pachia (Ethan) Zimmerman, and Dalis (Aaron) McNeal; seven grandchildren, Ezra, Oaklee, Aydin, Owen, Dyllin, Emmitt, and Zeek; a grand 'dog' who will continue to carry on the Benson name; niece, Tara Blair; nephew, Derek Fulmer; and numerous other loving family members.
Todd was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benson; his sister, Tracie Fulmer; and grandparents, Sam (Madelyn) Larkin and Wilbur (Katherine) Benson.
Todd grew up in South Bend, before moving to Cedar Rapids. His pride and joy were always his daughters, grandchildren, and Notre Dame football. A man who loved working with his hands, Todd was very creative, loved to dance, and was always the life of the party. Everyone who knew him loved him. You would always find Todd with work boots on, sawdust on his pants, and a carpenter's pencil behind his ear. There wasn't anything that he couldn't make.

From the moment I met Todd some 35 years ago I loved him. He was so full of life and humor and was an absolute joy to be around. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and all the many people who called him a friend. Rest easy big guy and hold down the Touchdown Jesus end zone until I get there !! 🙏 ❤️😇
So sorry for your loss. I grew up with Todd and Tracey. Todd always had a smile and a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
One of my favorite memories was working on Grandma and Grandpa Benson’s siding for their home. We had a great time tearing things apart singing and grooving to ELO’s don’t bring me down. hahaha. We had a blast cuz. Love you and can’t wait to see you again
Todd, you are my friend. we take that word and the meaning for granted. I worked with you closely over the last year and in that time you’ve made realize how important the word friend really is. You came out to help everytime I called, you even came in slippers and sweat pants when was off for the day. you touched me in ways no words can describe. I will live you forever… my brother, my friend.
Pachia, we extend our deepest sympathies to you & your family. Your father’s legacy will live on through the love and wisdom he passed on to you.
Todd and I work together at the boat club on Hill Street in South bend Indiana he was a great guy and I have many many memories of him he was surprised that I showed up at his father’s funeral just to check to see how he was doing I never met his dad he was a great friend and I will remember him the rest of my life
Todd and I went to school together, lived a block apart and ran the neighborhood with our other friends. We didn’t see each other much after he left The Boat Club, but I have great memories, he was a very loyal and dear friend. He and Tracy were both amazing people. My heart goes out to LeAnn and the rest of Todd’s family.
Did Todd go to Boggstown for grade school 🏫
Sending our condolences with much love
