Theresa Ellis

Theresa Ellis, 57, of Waverly, died Friday, September 4, 2020, at home. She is survived by her children, Rich (Lisa) Burns, David Burns, and Brad Burns (Danielle Peveronis); grandchildren, Katlynn, Brock, Hannah, Blake, Riley, Isaiah, Lacey, Kaylee, Bayleigh, Bentley, and Brinley; siblings, Roger LaCoursiere, Jeff LaCoursiere (Barb Davis), and Dottie Newlon; aunts Gracie and Linda; long time best friend, Nicci Wikert; many extended family members and friends; and beloved JackChiInu dog, Jax. Theresa Marie LaCoursiere was born October 4, 1962, to Roger and Gail (Kesselring) LaCoursiere. She graduated from Metro High School in Cedar Rapids. Theresa was a career cook. She most recently worked as a Cook at the Bremer County Jail. She also did some housekeeping over the years. Probably because she cooked for a living, her children laughed at remembering a lot of takeout. She did help with many Thanksgiving meals, including her scrumptious homemade stuffing and homemade breads. Theresa enjoyed dolphins, repainting rooms in her home, and enjoying a drink with friends where she would watch them participate in karaoke. She was somewhat reserved and shy until you got to know her'then she wouldn't hold back. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Annette.
