Teresa Kimpel

Teresa Ann Kimpel, 94, of Mankato, Minnesota, formerly of Marion, died on May 31, 2023, at peace. Funeral Service: 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Burial afforded previously at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Daniel) Legrone of Mapleton, Minnesota; brother, Bill Moffatt; nieces and nephews, Robert (Vickie) Ramsey; Kathy (Tim) Steel, Marie (Larry) Lanning, Sheri (Kevin) Springman, and Kevin Ramsey; many great-grandnieces and nephews; and grand-dogs, Noodle, and Doodle. Teresa was born May 23, 1929, in Marion, daughter of William and Anna (Gallo) Moffatt. She was married to Robert Kimpel for 20 years before his death in 1988. Teresa grew up fast, caring for her siblings so her mother could work to provide for the family. She worked hard all of her life, most recently as an Office Manager for the Cedar Rapids Senior Center, then caring for other friends and relatives. She and Robert liked to travel when they had the opportunity. They enjoyed a Caribbean Cruise, and trips to Florida, Wisconsin and others. Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, William and Anna; and sister, Marlene (John) Ramsey. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion.
