Tara Leigh Randall Willard, of Center Point, passed away Friday June 17, 2022, surrounded by her family at Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Tara's Life will be held at Pinicon Ridge in Central City, Saturday July 16, 2022. A kayak float has been planned to start at 10:00 AM, with lunch to follow at the campground pavilion at 2:00 PM.
Tara is survived by her two daughters, Sloan Randall (Brydon Hill) of Cedar Rapids, Josie (Vinnie) Yario of Cedar Rapids; her parents, David and Kathy Willard of Waverly; brother, Troy (Julie) Willard of Swisher; ex-husband, Jamie Randall of Palo; and countless nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.
Tara Leigh was born March 29, 1971, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of David and Kathleen Vogt Willard. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 1989. Tara attended college studying finance and was employed by Farmers State Bank for 30 years.
Tara was most happy spending time in the sun. Whether she was on her kayak floating down the Cedar, being a sun bum by her pool, or escaping the cold winters on a soft sand beach, you could always count on her to say yes to any adventure. Those that knew Tara, knew that when she told you she had an extra concert ticket, first you said yes, then you ask who you're going to see.
She had a contagious energy that would liven up any crowd. Her comfort zone was her little house on the end of the road, watching the sunset and enjoying game nights with her daughters and their guys. Tara is the perfect person to think of when you need that little reminder to go out, have fun, and experience all that there is. But, don't forget to sit back, laugh, and enjoy the little things in life; because those are the moments that end up meaning the most.
She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and close friend, Kim.
Memorials may be made in Tara's name to Hospice of Mercy.

Tara was a wonderful person, friend, coworker. I worked with Tara at FSB for many years helped watch Sloan while she was taking classes and we did a spur of a moment camper drive one evening and had a blast. We will never forget you “Tear-Bear” Love you alwayPam & Rick Post
Always in our thoughts.
I am so sorry to hear about Tara. I went to high school with her and I remember her being happy all the time. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
Tara was my sister-in-law. She accepted me for who I was. She accepted my ex- partner Joseph and I at her wedding to my brother Jamie. Years later she accepted my partner Greg with open arms when we moved back to Iowa from Seattle. Tara was and will always be greatly loved. She is a remarkable, memorable warm compassionate human being.
Love and miss you.
With love and memories
I remember our 1st Christmas with Tara; she made each niece and nephew a hand painted small ornament and tied it with a Christmas ribbon to a large candy bar and I thought that was the sweetest thing to do for her new family. All of the kids loved them. I found Amanda’s in my jewelry box right before Josie’s wedding and it made me cry. I wish I knew where the other 2 were. Maybe Sam and Tab have them in their old jewelry boxes too. I’ll ask them to check; but anyways that was a gift that was given from the heart!!! It’s a cherished memory that I will cherish forever. I love you Tara and will miss you; God took you home way to early!!! Give Mom, Dad, Margie, Triston and Kim a kiss and hug for me:)
Thinking of all of you and hope this tree represents your moms wonderful spirit of loving the outdoors
Josie, & Vinnie…our thoughts are with you and your family in the loss of your mom. We miss seeing you. Sincerely, Dan and Jill (your Papa Juan customers).
Tara Randall will remain in our hearts forever. A beautiful soul gone way too soon. Love you always my fun loving friend.
