Sherin Gifford, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa.
Sherin was born January 22, 1936, daughter to Kenneth and Bernice (McNamara) Quinn. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and loved to play cards.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Bill) Mefford, Mike Easterday, Sheri Easterday, Jill (Tony) Hemann; and Rick Easterday; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Quinn Jr.; and grandchildren, Amy Easterday and Kevin Smith.

I called her “Aunt Sherin” since we moved to Cedar Rapids in 1969. She was “that girl” as my family would say-born on the same day as my mom. They were thick as thieves with their hair colors, Dean Martin on Thursday nights, and so many other great memories. Rest in peace my sweet friend, I’m sure you and mom are drinking wine, coloring each others hair again, and laughing your asses off at us!
