Sanford Whitehouse

Sanford Whitehouse, 65, formerly of San Jose, California, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at home, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. No services are planned. Survivors include his sons, Justin Whitehouse of San Jose, California and Nathaniel Whitehouse of San Jose, California; granddaughter, Gianna Whitehouse of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Darla (Tim) Kromer of Modesto, California; nieces and nephews, Steven Bell, Rachel Carleton, Timmy Kromer, Caren Farris, Jennifer Haun, Samuel Hunter, and Adam Brooks; and great nieces and nephews, Sam-Dex Bell Shaffer, Lauren Kromer, Jesselyn Schunky, Addison Carleton, Sebastian Carleton, Sterling Ceja, Emilee Farris, Hailee Farris, Alex Haun, and Jacob Haun. Sanford was born November 11, 1957, in Yosemite National Park, son of Billy and Eleanor (Goreham) Whitehouse. Sanford was a very much-loved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He always enjoyed a good intelligent conversation. He retired to Cedar Rapids, Iowa after a long career as a software and cybersecurity developer in Silicon Valley of California. His joys were being outdoors, reading, gardening, computers, playing video games, and physical fitness. He was a hardworking, family man, and a kid at heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Cecilia Whitehouse.
