Sandra 'Sandi' Lee Unser, 60, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Memorial Service: 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, Laird Funeral Home, 310 South State Street, Elgin, Illinois 60123. Afterwards please join the immediate family at The Walnut SpeakEasy, 214 Walnut Avenue, Elgin, Illinois 60123. To celebrate Sandi's life. Food and drink will be provided at the expense of the attendee. Sandi was born on November 6, 1963, in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Patricia (Ross) Holland. Sandi had a great sense of humor. She loved to give people a hard time. Sandra enjoyed watching TV, dancing, music, playing her guitar, and spending time with her family. She loved the thought of cooking but never actually did it. Sandi is survived by her parents, children, Taylor Unser and Hannah (Clayton Townsend) Unser; grandson, Anderson Unser; and sister, Terri (Dave) Streich.

Sandi was my 2nd cousin…our Moms were cousins from their Moms..Ruthy and Pearly..We spent alot of time together growing up..camping..I was at her house a lot..she was very kind..funny…Pretty…Sad how God had other plans for her…Now she’s in Heaven…an Angel looking over her family…R I P Sandi…we will keep memories in our hearts forever..💞💗 Love Divona..

  5. I got to know Sandi through my daughter Kayla who worked with her at Ecolips. Kayla has autism and Sandi took her under her wing. She always looked out for her and was such a good friend. Her and Kayla loved to laugh together. Kayla will miss her greatly. Sandi was very special to Kayla and to me.

    • I’m her oldest bdaughter, who is also autistic, Mom told me about her “work daughter” Kayla and how much fun they had together. I’m sorry for your loss

Sandi and I were good friends at Eastview Jr High – – I remember her smiling always – and always fun and loving – I wish I could have stayed closer to her – – Sandi you are the best always – your friendship was so important to me – peace and may you be with Jesus our lord and savior forever.   8. Sandy and I are 2nd cousins. I hadn’t seen her since she was a child but I’m very happy she was a good person and helped (and raised) people that are different. Iykyk. RIP Sandy.
