Sandra 'Sandy' Alberts, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a long battle with COPD. She was 66 years old.
Sandy was born September 6, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Glenn and Evelyn (Baker) Blattner. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976. She enjoyed many careers in her life such as, Jim's Foods, Windsor on the River, Medical Arts Store, American Family Insurance, and the one she retired from (ASAC) Heart of Iowa.
Survivors include her son, James (Tracy) Alberts; daughter, Elizabeth Alberts, both of Cedar Rapids; son, Nicholas (Lauren) Alberts of Houston, Texas; six amazing grandkids, Bailey, Abigail, Sarah, Emma, Brennan, and Rugar James; brother, Michael (Jill) Blattner, sister, Lori (Jacinto) Ramos, five nephews, and one great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her premature twins, Matthew and Sarah Alberts; parents, and sister, Deborah 'Susie' Polton.
Per Sandy's wishes, no services are planned. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.

It has been 20 days now, that my sister Sandy died. I am still, so very heart broken. But I know that Sandy is with Mom and Dad, and Susie, and her twins that passed. Sandy’s body passed from illness, but her heart passed, from being broken. Too many tears at so many Christmas’s, birthdays, Mothers days, that passed, without a word. She is where love is freely given now, not for price. I love you sister, I miss you. Lori
