Ruth Marie (McClure) Bennett, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Visitation: 4-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a Vigil Service starting at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025, St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Ruth was born on December 14, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Billings) McClure. She was united in marriage to Ronald Bennett Sr. on December 29, 1956, in Cedar Rapids. Ruth was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She worked various jobs over the years, most recently retiring from Mcleod after many years. Ruth had many friends and never met a stranger. She loved animals, especially cats. Ruth enjoyed spending time spoiling her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her children, Shawn West, Mark Bennett, Dale (Anne Gard) Bennett, Kelley McNeese, and Jeffery (Stacey) Bennett; six grandchildren; Joshua West, Cody West, Mark (Amy) Bennett Jr., Angel (Nathaniel) Payne, Dominic (Kelly) McNeese, and Max Bennett; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Nancie) McClure Sr.; brother-in-law, James (Charlesy) Bennett; sister-in-law, Elizabeth McClure; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ronald Bennett Jr.; brother, Edward McClure; infant sister, Ruby McClure; and son-in-law, Bob West. In Lieu of Flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established for S.A.I.N.T Cat Rescue & Adoption Center. Those unable to attend are invited to watch the service via livestream.
