Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services – Cedar Rapids

  2. Ruta and Bruk You have left our lives, but you will never leave our hearts. I will always remember you forever until we meet again. Rest in peace sweet Bruk and Rutayi.

    • John 11: 25 Jesus said to her, I am myself that day and that life; he who has faith in me will have life even if he is dead;
      26 And no one who is living and has faith in me will ever see death. Is this your faith?

  3. I was Buruk’s math tutor for two months. His mother made the arrangements. I enjoyed working with them. I talked to Ruta the day before she died. She said, “God bless you.”

  4. Ruth was a strong prayer warrior, always there to help and guide with her faith.

    Biruk was a joyful kid, spreading happiness and laughter everywhere he went.

    Together, they showed how love and faith make us strong, leaving memories that’ll last forever.

    Though they’re not here, their prayers and joy stay with us, guiding us through life.

    Rest peacefully, Ruth and Biruk. You’ll always be remembered and missed dearly.

  5. Ruta was a good person and a woman of God. We started a weekly prayer group over call during the beginning of Covid and Ruta almost never missed a session. She was strong, faithful, and self-less. She always wanted to help everyone with no hesitation. She visited us the night she and Buruk passed. Buruk was a sweet soul, always greeting us with a big smile whenever we saw him and was a good friend to my children. They both are in good hands now and we will always remember them.

    “According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” Philippians 1:20

  6. I am lucky to get to know you. I will miss your beautiful voice every single night we prayed together. Enjoy heaven with your precious son.Ayantu.

  7. I lived in the same building as Buruk and Ruta and got to know them fairly well! Buruk was always offering to help with groceries or helping with anything he could ! He was a kind and sweet young man and Ruta was exactly the same .They were definetly mother and son.. so much alike. My heart is broken for all of their family as well as all of us friends. We will miss you all so much and love you

  8. Ruta and Buruk moved in their place the same time I moved into mine. Buruk was about 9 years old I think. Even then he was so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed knowing him and Ruta! They were my favorite neighbors. I considered them friends! I will miss them!

  9. I met Ruta and Bruk while working at the Catherine McAuley Center. Ruta had such a gentle and kind spirit. I remember fondly one CMC picnic where she and her mother served everyone coffee with the traditional ceremony. I was so honored by their generosity. My prayers go out to the family and friends during this difficult time of grief. May God give you comfort.

  10. We had the pleasure of knowing Buruk for more than three years through a weekly youth Bible class in which we had the privilege of teaching him. He had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and a consistently very positive outlook on life. Although we didn’t know Ruta very well, she must have been a wonderful mother, based on the fact that she had such a wonderful son. We know that these two good and faithful servants of God are in Heaven with our Lord Jesus now, and we also know that we will see them again there someday. We pray that God will provide comfort and strength to Buruk and Ruta’s family and many friends. Pat and Dominic Volkert

  11. Bruk was my favorite cousin he always would laugh and smile when we had a family gathering and Ruta was the best auntie she could always help in every way. She used t cook for us she always would give us hugs and now they are in a better place. We will always remember you and never forget you guys wherever and whenever God bless you and your family.
