Russell Orris Jackson, Jr., 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Graveside Services: 11 a.m. on Saturday July 30, 2022, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, followed by a celebration of life and sharing of memories at the Van Vechten Park Pavilion until 5 p.m. Survivors include his children, Brittney Jackson and Justin (Destiny) Peterson, six grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth (Andrea) Jackson and Kevin (Dawn) Jackson; many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Chewy. Russell was born on January 7, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Russell and Evelyn (Walker) Jackson. He was a loving and devoted father raising two kids. Russell worked at Terex of Cedar Rapids for 22 years. He took his work seriously and always had kind words and a smile for everyone. Russell was a selfless and compassionate man. He loved NASCAR, Westerns, and BBQ. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lewis Davis, William Davis and Theodore Davis.
