Royce Majors

Royce Michael Majors, 47, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Mount Vernon, died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, by Rev. Lori Wunder Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Bob and Jan Majors; brothers, Raymond (Ruth) Majors and Randall (Kari) Majors; friend, Clint; niece, Jordyn Majors; nephew, Luke Majors; step-brothers, Kevin (Becky) Whitman and Brad (JeRita) Whitman; step-nephew and nieces, Ryan (Tasha) Whitman, Karissa (Brad) Walker, Kendra Whitman, and MiKayla Whitman, and many other extended family. Royce was born April 13, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert and Nancy (Aossey) Majors. He graduated in 1988 from the Mount Vernon High School, where he was a member of the 1988 state dual meet championship wrestling team. Royce worked a variety of jobs over the years in the Cedar Rapids area. He will be remembered for his kindness and having a genuine interest in everyone he met. Royce loved dogs, fishing, and listening to music on good sound systems. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
