Roger Wesley, 80, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on July 24, 2024, at Evergreen Estates, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2024, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, Iowa. Roger was born on May 22, 1944, in Northampton, England, the son of Arthur T. Wesley and Sybil F. (Holmes) Wesley. He was united in marriage to Karen Bond of Marion, on October 1, 1983. Roger attended Bedford Modern School in Bedford, England, then studied poultry husbandry. Subsequently, he was employed with a poultry farm in Stoke Mandeville, England. There he was also involved in Christian outreach in a local hospital. After his marriage in Marion, the couple returned to England where he continued to work on the farm until it closed down and a job change took them to Bedford, England. In 1999 they returned to Marion, Iowa. Roger is survived by his wife, Karen J. (Bond) Wesley; son, Adam B. (Hayley) Wesley; sister, Judith A. (George) Beston; nephews, Ian (Jennifer) Beston, Rob (Catherine) Beston; and great nieces and nephews, Alby, Charlotte, James, Jessica, and Lois. Roger was preceded in death by his parents. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in care of Karen Wesley.
