Roger Reyhons, 85, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Northbrook Manor Care, surrounded by family. Visitation: 9:00 ' 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home by Chaplain Deb Black. Burial: Mount Vernon Cemetery following the service.
Roger was born February, 26, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Emil and Francis (Kolek) Reyhons. He was united in marriage to Lou Ann Carstensen on August 9, 1958.
Roger started he career working for his dad as a fuel deliver man for Standard Oil. He became a fireman from 1959-1991 and eventually became fire chief. He was also a billing clerk for Iowa Electric from 1966-2000. Roger was a member of the Southeast Linn Community Center in Lisbon as well.
He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, Chicago Bears, and NASCAR; especially Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
Roger is survived by his sons, Steve (Debra) Reyhons of Monticello, Marc Reyhons of Tiffin, Scott (Julie) Reyhons of Clinton, and Jon (Jackie) Reyhons of Solon; grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Matt, Shelbie, Savannah, Taylor, Travis, Allison, Austin, and Lake; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Norma Abbott and Marsha (Bob) Lehr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lou Ann Reyhons; and brother-in-law, Tom Abbott.
Memorial may be made to the Mount Vernon Fire Fighters Association.

Roger the king of Special Billing and after many years of working with Roger and him teaching me I got to be the Queen. Roger was the best. His love for Lou Ann and kids always came 1st. My sympathies to the Reyhons family.

Roger was always happy and a jokester. It was great fun working with him at Iowa Electric. He loved firefighting and always talked about it. His heart was big and he let everyone feel special. Watch over us!

I’m so sorry we lost Roger, he was a great guy and did so much for his community. Roger was a fun loving guy and brought joy to so many. He was so proud of his family, always talking about them. Boy, know your Dad loved you all and always hold his love in your hearts.
