Robert Rubocki

Robert Rubocki, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Emery Place, Cedar Rapids, from Alzheimer’s. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.

Robert was born on July 14, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, the son of Andrew and Caroline (Vizzi) Rubocki. He was united in marriage to Mary Klein on May 8, 1976, in Buffalo, New York.

Robert worked as an Accountant for General Mills for over 30 years. He loved stock car racing, hockey, and football, especially the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills. He coached the Roughriders Little League hockey for a few years. He also worked at Hawkey Downs after retirement.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Rubocki, children, Michael (Sara) Rubocki, and Philip Rubocki (friend, Amanda); grandchildren, Thomas Rubocki and Shelby Rubocki; and siblings, Marlene Sullivan and Ronald (Jenae) Rubocki.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for Robert’s care to The Caregivers, St. Croix Hospice, and Emerys Place.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s  Association.

  1. Bob and I worked together many years at General Mills and served together on the Hawkeye Credit Union Board. He will be missed and long remembered. Condolences to all who knew and loved him.

    Rob and i regularly cruised around in his Yellow Mustang
    We spent nights at Crystal Beech near Fort Erie
    Summer picnics at the family Creek
    Days at the racetrack
    Being in Toronto and him in Buffalo meant infrequent get togethers But we had many growing up
    Our families were close
    Once he moved to Iowa it became very infrequent but we still had that lifetime connection
