Robert Denny

Robert (Bob) Thomas Denny, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. No services are presently planned. Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids is assisting the family. Robert is survived by his children, Candi (Dave) Zenisek of Belle Plaine, Randy (Becky) Denny of Coggon, Kim (Lewis) Lentz of Sherman, Texas, Jason (Zowi) Denny of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Robert was born November 5, 1935, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Mable Estes Denny. Robert grew up in the Ottumwa where he attended school and graduated from high school. Robert was united in marriage to Constance JoAnn McDonough in Ottumwa on April 7, 1956. The couple was blessed with four children. Bob and Connie made their home in Cedar Rapids. Bob worked for Wilson Foods for 30 years before retiring. Bob then worked at the Linn County Landfill before retiring again. Bob and Connie made their home between Cedar Rapids and Yampa, Colorado for several years. Constance passed away in 2012. Bob is remembered as a fisherman, and being an enormous Denver Bronco football fan. In younger years, he raised horses and showed them often at horse shows. Bob loved to watch movies, especially John Wayne and Gunsmoke television series. Robert had to have a large garage because of his love of wood-working. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Constance; two sisters, Bonnie, Doris; and his beloved cat, Mitsey. A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name and may be directed to Cancer Research and Animal Rescue.
