Ricky Yancey

Ricky E. Yancey, age 60, of Cedar Rapids, passed away November 28, 2022, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City. No services for Ricky are planned. Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services is assisting the family. Rick survived by a son, Andrew (Ryleigh Casey) of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Treyton, Caston, Oakleigh Yancey; three brothers, Jeff of Georgia, Tim (Anita) of Cedar Rapids, William of Louisiana; numerous other nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Ricky Eugene, the son of David and Margaret Puschal Yancey, was born July 15, 1962, in Cedar Rapids. He grew up in Cedar Rapids, where he attended school. Rick joined the United States Navy and served his country four years. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Rick returned to Cedar Rapids. He worked in construction and belonged to the Local #43 Laborers Union. Rick was blessed with a son, and three grandchildren. Rick was an avid camper and loved to go fishing. He also was a lover of great cars and racing. During his life, Rick owned an assortment of classic and fast cars.. Rick is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David.

We’ll remember Rick by his passion for cars and puttin’em sideways (reference parking lot pic), his passion for people (he literally wanted to know and talk to everyone that crossed his path) and his ability to make you want to Deck him and Hug him at the same time (If you knew him, you know what I mean). We have done so many things, from racing trips for NHRA , lots of mud runs, camping, road trips all over the countryside, sharing and making great memories along the way. You will forever be in my thoughts and see you someday somewhere in the middle. I love you… Mel
