Guestbook

  1. Jeff, Dee and McLaud Family,
So sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Mr. McLaud, as I always referred to him, when I saw him around town, I will always remember him with a smile. RIP.
    Dave Lauer

  2. To say Richard was interested in family history would be an understatement. When it came to connecting ancestors he was better than a computer. Many times when I failed to find a name on the Internet Richard was able to tell you the relationship. Every summer Richard would head up to Dumont, Iowa for the Allen-Harlan reunion. Checking the cemeteries in the area followed by meeting cousins was the highlight of the Saturday. We miss you big guy!
    Carol and Larry Allen

  3. McLaud Family: We are so sorry for the loss of Richard. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
    Jim & Helen Yeisley

  4. So sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. Hard to believe there will no longer be surprise telephone calls and messages from “Cousin Richard”. Please accept our sympathy–there was only ONE Richard!! Jim & Mary Lou Rogers

  5. There are so many memories with him I can’t even begin to count them all. All the time I spent around their house as a kid, they became a second family to me. One of my most vivid memories is the day I came down to ride bikes with Joyce and I had a shiny new horn my dad had installed on my bike. While Joyce and I were racing around, I got too close to their mailbox with my bike and snapped the horn right in half, breaking it. Crying hysterically, as I knew I’d be in deep doo doo when i got home, Keebe came outside to see why I was upset. He said he had a magical tool that could fix it, which turned out to be a soldering iron. Good as new, it was. Funny, I was so excited and amazed at how he had fixed it I ended up ratting on myself to my dad the second I got home. “Guess what Joyce’s dad did for me today, he really saved my butt!” He was a great man, and I will miss him.
