He graduated from Springville High School in 1935. He married Florence Zenishek on June 6, 1940. Together they farmed and raised their family around Lisbon and Mount Vernon. Due to the Depression and World War II, Dick chose farming and raising livestock as a profession, wishing he could have been an attorney or an auctioneer. Andrew Burns of Panama City, Florida, and Bryan Hoke of Mount Vernon. Dick always delighted in his grandchildren. In his later years he collected antiques and attended many auctions. The arrival of his "Antique Journal" magazine was a source of joy for him. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Russell, Rolland, Robert Hoke, and Mildred Werderman. In lieu of flowers any memorials will be given to the Diabetes Foundation or Macular Degeneration Research.

Guestbook

  1. I was saddened by the loss of your father Richard Hoke. He was a good member of our community for as long as I can remember. He and his wife Florence raised a great family, many of whom went to school with me or my sister Wendy Hodgden Staggs. Remember the good times with your father, those memories will carry you through this difficult time. Janis Hodgden Peacock
