Phillip Roethler

Phillip J. Roethler, Jr., 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Winslow House Nursing Home in Marion. No services are presently planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.Phillip is survived by a son, Lee (Jennifer) of Center Point; four grandchildren, Destany, Madison, Hunter, Paige; and other relatives and friends.Phillip was born August 24, 1946, in Osborn, Iowa, the son of Phillip J. Roethler Sr. and Helen Clinton. Phillip grew up in the Osborn area where he attended country schools. Immediately after schooling, he began farming with his family. Phillip was united in marriage to Eloise Dubus in 1978. The couple was blessed with one son, Lee. Phillip and Eloise lived in several of the surrounding cities, including, Manchester, Marshalltown and Center Point. After farming, Phillip cared for lawns both for cemeteries and private homes. Eloise passed away in 2019. Phillip enjoyed his cold refreshments and being outdoors. Never much for hunting, he is remembered for love of fishing and just going for walks outside.Phillip is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eloise.
