From 1st grade on….
He was a Weldon and we all knew it.
First day of grade school Teachers would TEACH, Nuns would Start with “good morning class. Mike Weldon, Bobby Wernimont, Rick Leidigh and Carey Hamilton, please stand up. Good morning boys. Just wanted to meet your smiling faces.” The 4 of us would meet under the trees by the “NUN HOUSE” to discuss our plan for the rest of that day. They were wise to us 8 year olds.
Mike was the tallest at 3′ 4″ he did the talking.
Mike was my friend and we stayed that way for decades and then comes those days that we all slip away from those faces of our youth.
I thought of Mike often. His family of 30th St Dr. and I bumped into each other and would keep me up to date.
My dear old friend weathered the storm that never let up for him. He battled it with his Judy by his side.
Now that his Lord has brought him home for Shelter and Peace, we can enjoy knowing he’s Safe.
To the love of Mike’s life Judy, thank you for loving and caring for our friend all these years. You were truley his God Sent. To his family, you know I am thinking of you all. We will find each other and share a story or two and smile.
Safe travels my friend.
We will see you again one day,
at the Lamp Post Up Ahead.
Bob
