Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many great and sometimes kind of crazy memories of the things we did when we were younger. Take care Trina Reiter

  2. I am so saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. He was a student of mine at Maquoketa Valley and I fondly remember him as a quiet, happy, hard-working young man. I’m pretty sure he played football for me as well on the junior high team, and he gave everything he had to help us be successful on the field. He has left us way too soon, but I will always remember Mike as a good and kind human being. My thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family and with his siblings whom I also had as students in my science classes. Roger Hoekstra, Manchester, IA

  3. My deepest sympathies to Richard and Dorothy on the loss of their son, Mike. My sympathies also to his wife, children, and other family members. Always keep him in your heart in memories of him.

  4. I am so saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. I have fond memories of our years at Maquoketa Valley together. I remember Mike as a kind, quiet but funny, gentle spirit. He was a great guy. My deepest sympathy to his family.

  5. My deepest sympathies to all the family members of Mike. We shared many great laughs thru our years at Maquoketa Valley, cruising around Delaware county & going to parties & dances. He was a great guy to hang with. Was sadden by the news of his passing. Will cherish the memories. Patti (Nefzger) Hoeger

  6. I grew up in Oneida, Iowa. Mike and his family were our neighbors. My brother Matt and I rode the school bus with Mike (and his brothers and sisters) for many years. My best memories of Mike and his brothers and sisters were playing outside in the snow in the dark during the winter months and then playing hide and seek at night during the summer months. Those were fun times and good memories. We all grew up and graduated and later on Mike was the Best Man at my brothers wedding. I moved away from the area in 1993 and hadnt seen Mike or the rest of his family in probably 20 years. I saw him most recently at my moms funeral in 2014. When I was able to talk to Mike I asked him about where he lived and how many kids he had. He was so quick to pull out his wallet and show me pictures of his boys. He was so proud of them! I never knew his wife Ann or their boys but my heart goes out to them and to the rest of Mike’s family. May Jehovah’s promise for the future sustain you in your time of grief. -Psalm 68:20
“Death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
