Melissa Chance

Melissa Lynn (Henson Kutcher) Chance, 34, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Family and friends will gather from 4-7 p.m. with a service beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Melissa was born February 25, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Cheryl (Strain) Blazek. Melissa attended Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. She was currently living Sioux City, working for the Sioux City Journal in advertising and marketing. Melissa loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, and arts and crafts. Survivors include her four children, Hunter Michael (18), Ashton Jeffrey Duane (13), Jackson Christopher (10), and Braylen Chance (8). Other survivors include Christina (Mark) Kirchmann, Amanda Oakley, Carrie & Dan Ohrt, five nieces, three nephews, three uncles, two aunts, and many cousins. Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl (Strain) Blazek; great grandfather and great grandmother, Gary & Rose Ketchum; grandparents, Bev Christner, Norman Strain; and uncle, Dean Strain.
