McKale V. Morgan

September 13, 1993 ~ March 20, 2013

McKale Victor Morgan, 19, of Lisbon, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home following a seizure. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Lisbon, by the Reverend Tom Mattson. The family will greet friends from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Church. Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements. Surviving McKale are his parents, Mike and Dawn; 3-brothers, Adam (Cari) and their children Tristan and Ann Marie of Stanwood, Chase (Val) and their children Avery, Payton, Rylan, Jocelyn, Gabryella of Goldsboro, North Carolina and twin brother Marshall of Lisbon; maternal grandparents, Fred and Marlene Himes of Hiawatha; paternal grandmother Geraldine Morgan of Cedar Rapids; many extended family; and his hunting dog Gauge. Preceding him in death were paternal grandfather D.A. Morgan and grandmother Eileen Schulte. McKale was born September 13, 1993 in Cedar Rapids. He would have graduated this May from Monticello High School. McKale earned his Eagle Scout Award August 14, 2010 with Boy Scout Troop 54 and member of the Cho-Gun-Mun-A-Nock Order of the Arrow Lodge. He was an active member of Lisbon United Methodist Church; he considered it his extended family. McKale was a member of 4-H, Pork Center Pioneers of Cedar County; and was well known for the love of his goats. He was the "The Heart Child" of Eastern Iowa Variety Club in 1998. McKale never met a person he didn't like, and had a million questions for everyone to get to know them. He loved his classmates, teachers, and helpers at Monticello, Franklin, Arthur, Lisbon, and Handicare. He gave the best hugs in Eastern Iowa and will be missed dearly by all. Memorials in McKale's honor may be sent to; United Methodist Church, 200 E. Market Street, Lisbon, IA 52253, or Hawkeye Area Council Boy Scouts of America, 660 32nd Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.

  1. Our daughter Nicole Stevens is a senior at Monticello High School and she was very saddened to hear of the loss of McKale. Please know our family is thinking of you at this very sorrowful time.

  2. Dawn and family, this breaks my heart in so many ways. This beautiful boy and all he has given you and your family and others who knew him will be deeply missed. I can only imagine your pain and want you to know this truly makes my heart hurt and I am thinking of you. You and I can relate in ways many others can’t and Mckale and Jacob are the reasons you and I met. I wish for better days for you and all of your family. I’m so sorry to learn of this.
