Marilyn Edna Polglaze, 82, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away at her daughter's home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from complications of a stroke.
The former Marilyn Edna Waxler was born on February 4, 1941, in Evanston, Illinois to John Cummings and Edna Marie (Bakkemo) Waxler.
Marilyn graduated from Beloit High School in 1959. On September 24, 1960, Marilyn married Edward Louis Polglaze in Beloit, Wisconsin. Marilyn worked for many years providing In-Home Child Care.
Marilyn leaves behind the people she loved, her husband, Ed; daughters, Susan (Scott) Bednarcik, and Pam (Barb Carter) Polglaze; sons John Polglaze, and Bob Polglaze; grandchildren, Pam, Bob, Jared, Lori, Susan, Aria, Johnny, Nate, Bob, and Megan; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Sue) Waxler, whom she loved and respected, they were very close and spoke to each other many times a day; many nieces and nephews; her friend, Lindsay Beth Healless, who was like a child to her; her best friends, Charolette Ross, and Arlene Ruegger; and a sister-in-law, Barb Polglaze, that she loved and considered the sister she never had. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Waxler.
Do not stand by my grave and weep, for I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamonds glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand by my grave and cry; I am not there; I did not die.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Eastlawn Cemetery-Section 2A, 2200 Milwaukee Road, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511.
