Marilyn Bigham

Marilyn Luzene Bigham, 86, recently of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died after a brief but difficult fight with cancer, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Disneyland at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids, Iowa handled arrangements. Marilyn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 31, 1930, the daughter of Franklin Kelly and Ursla (Pearson) Cooper, Sr. On January 20, 1963, she married her love, Kenneth William Bigham who preceeded her in death in November 2016. Survivors include her daughter, Ursla Lanphear; son-in-law, William Lanphear; grandchildren, Cody Colon, and Lauren, Christopher, Vincent, Josiah and Aiden Lanphear; siblings, Betty Patterson, Franklin (Andrea) Cooper, Jr., and Gail Hamilton; nieces, Meg Li, Nancy Woods, and Roberta Twidwell; and special dog friend Buddy. Marilyn used her business school degree to work as an escrow officer, eventually opening her own company, Pacific Title. She was an avid shopper, loving all things Chico's and UGG's. Some of her favorite places include Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada where she spent a good part of her life. To keep her brilliant mind active, she also enjoyed reading, and spending time with her cross stitching friends in Reno. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, William Kelly Bigham; siblings, Phyllis Haight Smith, and Peter Cooper. Memorials may be directed to the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, 315 18th Avenue, Hiawatha, Iowa 52233.
