Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Warm thoughts and prayers are with you all of the loss of your beautiful Mom … many precious memories of time spent in your home and Marie being our Camp Fire leader.

  2. Marie worked with me from time to time in my LD class at Roosevelt Middle School. I loved working with her. I also knew her daughter Marg from when we went to UNI. Marg and I went to a wonderful retreat in Dubuque, IA. Marg did a wonderful dance to the song, “Send In The Clowns”. Hugs to Marg and her family at the loss of your Mom. Pam and I both live in CR and hope to make it to the funeral home to honor Marie.

  3. My condolences to all of you in Morrison family. Marie was a strong and capable force in life, even in these later years she still seemed to have a zeal to keep going in spite of her health issues. This is not surprising when I reflect back on the years I was connected to the family and the stories you all related growing up in a family with 7 children! Big , active family gatherings always with lots of fun! I remember the stories about your camping vacations in the big canvas tent….. how your parents could make that a vacation, when I know how much work is involved with camping and a large family , well I was always in awe of that! Cherish those great memories and I hope they are a comfort to you now and in days ahead! Love to you all…….Linda

  4. My deepest sympathies to all the Morrison family. Your Mom was an exceptional person. She was always such an energetic force around I.C. parish. She always had either a hammer or paint brush in her hands inviting others to come and help. I am sure heaven will be much more beautiful with her there. I shall be praying for her and all of her family every day.
    Msgr. Karl Glovik

  5. My thoughts and prayers are with the Morrison Family. Your Mom was always so kind and caring. I have many fond memories of her as our Camp Fire leader. She will be greatly missed. Michele Altieri

  6. My condolences to the Morrison family. Marie was such a sweet funny lady. I met Marie in the early 80’s through a mutual friend and we shared many breakfasts at Woolworth’s. Marie and a friend painted my house when I lived in Wellington Heights.

  7. My deepest sympathies to everyone in the Morrison family. Grandma Morrison was always so inviting, so kind. She was the grandma I no longer had. Great memories of many Thanksgivings and holidays with her and the Morrison family. I feel privileged to have been a part of it all. She will be missed by many.

  8. Marie was a gentle soul and a special lady that was a joy to know. We shared coffee after Mercy Daily Mass many years ago and it was a great way to start out one’s day. She will never be forgotten and missed by everyone that was blessed to know her. Sincere Sympathies to your Family

  9. Mrs. Morrison was a wonderful woman who cared deeply for others. She seemed to always be at IC- working an event, helping at Church, serving funeral meals, etc. She was always so pleasant and happy to see you!! My sympathies to her family during this difficult time. I hope you can feel peace knowing she is in a better place. We will continue to pray for her and her family. GOD Bless. Pat & Kara Callanan

  10. My sincere condolences go to the family at this trying time. There is a Bible passage that comforts me greatly. Jesus promised he will resurrect our loved ones. John 5: 28 and 29. When earth becomes the place of peace Jesus talked about at Matthew 5:5, then we will live the promise of everlasting peace. Psalm 37:29. We have a promise from God at Revelation 21:3,4. There will be no more death and pain. There is more comfort to be read about in God’s Word, the Bible concerning the resurrection and reuniting with our loved ones. May God’s peace be yours. Isaiah 26:4.

  11. My very sincerest sympathy to the Morrison family at this sad time of great loss. I shall always remember Marie as being one of the most devoted and sincerest workers of the Cedar Rapids School District. She was always my very first choice when I needed a substitute secretary in my media centers. So very pleasant, knowledgeable, caring, and never left anything undone. We also enjoyed visiting on the phone after we retired. What a wonderful lady and friend she was!!
    –Cindy Lundine

  12. My sincerest sympathies to Marie’s family and friends. I worked with your mother volunteering in the IC kitchen for senior dinners and other events over the years. Marie was a hard worker, a giving person, a pleasure to know. You must all be proud and heartbroken.

  13. Morrison Family, So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Many memories of being in your home with Camp Fire. Fun trips with Camp Fire also. She was always at IC, no matter what event. Always smiling. Another IC Mom in heaven. I am sure they are catching up in heaven. Prayers to all. Shelley Dorrance
