Marian Kohl Mickie

Marian "Mickie" Caroline Rogers Kohl, 98 of Livingston, Texas, formerly of Mount Vernon died Monday April 23, 2007 in Livingston. Graveside services 11:00 a.m., Tuesday in Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery by Celebrant Mary Morgan. The family is inviting friends to call from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m., Monday in Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. Marian is survived by her loving daughter Judy and husband Richard J. Steiner of Kingwood, Texas, grandsons David and wife Maria and James and wife Diane. She is also survived by three great grandchildren: Sarah, Eric, and Juliana Steiner. Preceding Mickie in death were her parents, her husband of 64 years Walter "Waddie" Kohl and a brother Bruce Rogers. Mickie was born December 1, 1908 in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of James and Carrie Leslie Rogers. She grew up and lived in eastern Iowa, and graduated from Mount Vernon and Cedar Rapids Business College. She married Walter E. Kohl, June 2, 1929. Waddie died in 1993. Mickie was a long time member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, and taught Sunday school there for twenty-three years. She was a past member and Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star of Mount Vernon. She and her husband Waddie retired to Livingston. On line condolences to www.morganfuneralchoices.com.
