  1. Dr. Haupt was my advisor at Coe College from 1987 to 1991. She was a wonderful professor and mentor. She never revealed her political leanings and kept us secretly guessing, although most of us were convinced she was a Republican. She was kind and soft spoken and once gave my friend Pete Wernimont and I her tickets to the CR Symphony. It was a real treat to get away from campus and the East Side Maidrite and we really appreciated her thoughtfulness. After graduation, I would meet Dr. Haupt for breakfast if I were in town, and we always had such nice visits. I could never call her Margaret, she was always Dr. Haupt to me. She taught me so much and I am saddened to hear of her death.

  2. Professor Haupt was my teacher at Coe College in 1983. She taught me Political Science. I always remember how excited she would get when there would be an upcoming election. She taught me so much about the political process and anytime there’s an election in my state I think about her and the fond memories I have of being in class with her. I found a love of politics and government in her class, she will never be forgotten.
