Madisan Brooke Gallagher, 33, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Family and friends will gather from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with a sharing of memories beginning at 3 p.m. at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Madisan was born on July 11, 1991, in Cedar Rapids. From a young age, Madisan was destined to make a difference'earning her CNA certification at 16 years old and going on to become a Registered Nurse. Madisan graduated from Washington High School in 2010, and earned her nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2020. Her commitment to nursing was more than a career'it was a calling. Madisan's dedication to the nursing profession went far beyond clinical skill, she had a deep love for training new nurses, sharing her knowledge and nurturing the next generation with patience, humor, and heart. It's no surprise that she was an organ donor, she continues to save lives after her death. Outside of work, Madisan was known for her bold and ever-changing collection of eyeglasses, her love of shopping, reading, and live music. In addition to her professional achievements, Madisan's nurturing spirit extended to her family. Madisan was a devoted aunt who took on the role of guardian and caregiver to her niece, Myla. Madisan's love for Myla knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into raising and supporting her. Myla was the light of her life. Her presence was unforgettable'kind, confident, and unapologetically herself. Madisan's love for life and the people in it left a mark on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Those left behind include her parents, Shane Gallagher and Andrea (Kurk) Rogers; niece, Myla Godard; sister, Molly Gallagher; grandfather, James Michalicek; step-brothers, Alex Rogers and his daughter and Nick (Whitney) Crowder and their family; sister-in-law, Kaitlyn Koffron; nephew, Aiden Gallagher; niece, Arabella Koffron; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding Madisan in death are her paternal grandparents, Mike and Betty Gallagher; maternal grandparents, James and Sara Lyn Schneider; and her brother, Hunter Gallagher. Memorials may be directed to the family and used for an education fund for Myla.

  5. Madisan touched the lives of so many people in and out of the hospital. She was like a sister to me. I’m glad to have known her and loved her.

  6. I had the privilege of working with Maddie several years ago. She was beautiful inside and out. Condolences to her family and friends.

  7. Madisan was an amazing person and wonderful nurse. She was a mentor to many other nurses on the floor and was always available to give advice and lend a hand. She will be remembered by her friends, coworkers, and the patients she cared for. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Rest in peace sweet girl.

  11. I’ll never forget the compassion and patience that Madisan showed to everyone she met. Her presence was truly uplifting and she was one of the best nurses I’ve ever known. Words cannot express the heart break felt. Rest peacefully and please know you’re loved and dearly missed.
